Jesus at the Center

The Apostle Paul to the Colossian Church to counter specific problems. The letter includes some of Paul’s most lofty and eloquent writing about Jesus Christ. In his Introduction to Colossians, Eugene Peterson notes, “For [the Colossians], the cosmic forces of one sort or another were getting equal billing with Jesus. Paul writes to them in an attempt to restore Jesus, the Messiah, to the center of their lives.”
Memory Verse: “Let your roots grow down in Him, and let your lives be built on Him.
Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught and you will overflow with thankfulness.” (Colossians 2: 7)
