Giving Lessons

At a special meeting on October 13th, our Session unanimously approved plans for indoor worship to resume beginning Sunday, November 1st. For the five Sundays in November, we’ll offer one worship service at 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. This service will have the feel of a Fifth Sunday service, blending traditional and contemporary elements. We’ll continue offering our live stream for those who can’t come to church or feel safer watching from home. Beginning the first Sunday in December, it’s our intention to offer two worship services: traditional worship at 8:30 am in the sanctuary and contemporary worship at 11:00 am in Miller Commons.

Memory Verse: “You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)

We begin a four-part series of stewardship sermons called “Giving Lessons” based on a portion of 2 Corinthians, chapters 8 & 9. In these chapters, the Apostle Paul appeals to the Corinthian church to take part in a special collection he gathered for the Jerusalem church.

The final Sunday is our Consecration Sunday when we’ll welcome Dr. Shane Berg as our Guest Preacher.

No Worship
In an abundance of caution and to practice social distancing due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, on March 15, 2020 we began to hold one Sunday worship service at 9:30 am and a Thursday evening Prayer Service, these worship services are broadcast online only. In September and October we were able to hold an 8:30 am outdoor service that was not live streamed.

A CALL TO FASTING AND PRAYER ON THURSDAYS:

September 24 to December 17, 2020

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7: 14

Join Pastor Stuart Spencer on Thursdays for a day of full or partial fasting. However or whenever you fast on Thursdays, be sure to participate in our Evening Prayer service at 7:00 p.m. If you are unable to fast for medical reasons, plan to make Thursday a special day of prayer for yourself, our church and our nation.
Let’s get started!
