The (Un)simple Truth

We had something very exciting to share!

Many joined us in 2020

for our Adult Spiritual Formation series. We had a variety of interesting and thought-provoking topics. It was a blessing to walk alongside our members and guests — on Zoom!

WHAT: A monthly Zoom conversation featuring Christian authors, leaders, pastors and professors from around the country!
WHEN: We met in the last quarter of 2020.
WHERE: Zoom Webinar.
WHY: It’s not easy to follow Christ in a world of polarizing extremes. How do we love God and our neighbors in a time when cancel culture and divisive rhetoric are the norm? Members and guests joined us as we explored how God’s Word gives us an alternative way to navigate our world and relationships.

Amanda Mootz, December’s guest…

“Becoming Peacemakers” features Amanda Mootz, grassroots organizing manager at World Vision. Amanda collaborates with community leaders, pastors and politicians to make the Gospel a tangible reality for people from all walks of life, particularly those who experience inequality in its many forms. Themes include Advent, discipleship and social justice.

Dave and Marisa Avramovich, November’s guests…

A little about our November 2nd presenters: Dave and Marisa are an incredible ministry team who serve the Southwest Division of Young Life in the United States. Dave is regional director of Young Life-Los Angeles, a highly multicultural role overseeing thousands of students in Southern California. Marisa is a Divisional Training Coordinator for Young Life, a Certified Cultural Intelligence Trainer, and volunteers with Young Life Catholic Relations.

With decades of youth ministry experience, the Avramovichs offer a refreshing perspective on what it means to follow Christ today. Watch Marisa and Dave’s webinar again!
