LOVE DRIVEN MINISTRY

A Message from Missions

We helped buy a house!

How $1500 stopped a liquor store from going next to Love Driven Ministries Malawi

“Can you help us buy a house?” the message from Love Driven Ministries founder, Ishmael Adam, read. “The owner of the house next to our ministry is going to sell it to someone who wants to open a liquor store. We can’t let this happen. We have raised $300.”

Ishmael explained that the house would cost $1,800 American dollars to purchase. In Malawi, anyone can buy liquor from the liquor stores. There is no There is no minimal age for purchase. This means that children can become addicted at a young age. Ishmael explained that the house is adjacent to the building they had purchased the previous week. “This would allow us to expand our work space and have meeting space with a community library,” he explained. On behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire team of Love Driven Ministries, I would like to thank you and the entire congregation of First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown for the continuous support toward the work we do in Malawi.

“Your prayers and financial support are greatly appreciated. In a special way, I would like to thank the church leadership, the Mission Committee and the entire members of the congregation for donating $1,500 that we used to purchase the building next to our property that was intended to be used as a liquor store. I have no words to describe how excited I am to see that building being turned into a safe space for the kids and youth in the community.” Love Driven Ministries exists to empower and provide opportunities to the children living in Juma village, one of the most isolated and poverty-stricken villages in Salima, Malawi. Their mission can be achieved by investing in children, inspiring them to be active leaders in the community, and preparing them to give back to the community.
